David Orazietti

David Orazietti - Leadership in College and Government

David Orazietti is an Ontario educational leader whose most recent position was as president of Sault College - overseeing a $131 million annual budget and 600 full-time and part-time staff combined in Sault Ste. Marie. He served as Dean of the Departments of Business, Skilled Trades and Technology, Culinary, and Natural Environment. Additionally, as the Dean of the Aviation Department David Orazietti, successfully secured significant investments that bolstered aviation resources and infrastructure for students.

Mr. Orazietti has a background in public service and has served in the Ontario Legislative Assembly as a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for four consecutive terms. As the longest serving MPP in Sault Ste. Marie's history he worked as an Ontario Cabinet Minister and, among other accomplishments, secured significant provincial funding for Sault College. Mr. Orazietti specifically served as the Minister of Government and Consumer Services, Minister of Natural Resources, and as Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

Mr. Orazietti chaired Provincial Standing Committees on General Government and Justice Policy, and also chaired the Government Caucus. He served on Treasury Board and Management Board of Cabinet as well. He graduated from Carleton University and Northern Michigan University and after becoming a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers, he earned his Master’s Degree in administration and curriculum at Nipissing University.
